peace within…

Today here’s a quote from one of my favorite saints for our hearts to contemplate.

“May today there be peace within. May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.  May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.  May you use those gifts that you have received and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content knowing that you are a child of God.

Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and everyone of you.”    Saint Teresa of Avila

St Teresa! We have a lovely gothic church here in her honor and my parents and I have pre bought our niches in their columbarium when we die. I have a lovely view after I am gone! St Teresa’s Church is located along Kampong Bahru Road and near the Carmelite Monastery. During my more devout years, I used to go to the Carmelite Monastery to pray after visiting St Teresa.

Wow, GH, what a blessing to be near a Carmelite Monastery & have a church in honor of St. Teresa of Avila (I am a huge groupie!) I didn’t realize Singapore has such a Catholic presence – thank you for opening my eyes. Blessings! ✨🌟🌷🌟✨

Yes we do. We have Catholic schools all the way to Junior College. There is a Catholic Seminary here too located in Punggol, next to another Gothic church called The Nativity. The Catholic management owned a lot of land in my lil red dot. All on freehold property in every corner of Singapore. Older churces have redeveloped selves to include underground parking, columbarium, funeral parlours and kindergartens. St Alphonsus or we fondly call “Novena Church” was recently reopened after a SGD54 million facelift. But I think in terms of population, there are more Buddhists. (*If I am not wrong!)

I love St Teresa, although I’d not come across that quote before. Thanks for sharing it.
