Sometimes worries grab our hearts by the throat (figuratively speaking) and push our peace into pieces. Why pray when we can worry? Maybe our peace meters would increase if we flip that to: ‘why worry when we can pray?’
“Worry does not empty today of its sorrow. It empties today of its strength.” Corrie Ten Boom
“Worry is like a rocking chair: it gives you something to do, but doesn’t get you anywhere.” (Anonymous)
During our journeys through Lent (& life) however frenetically our stress overwhelms, maybe we should take a few moments to decrease our worry meters by increasing our prayer meters.
Just sayin’. A little more prayin’ might keep us from cavin’.
“Give your troubles to God: He’s up all night anyway.” Anonymous
grace, peace & prayer (vs. worries)
Virginia : )
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life… Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?” (Matthew 6:25-27)
Praying..Praying, giving my worries to Jesus.
Amen – place your worries on Jesus, His hands (& Sacred Heart) are big enough to hold them all. 🙏🌟💜🌟🙏
Thanks for this timely blog, Ginny! Great quotes to help me “get it”!! 🥰
I’m ‘getting it’ too, Cin. Sometimes worry hijacks my courage muscles before they start stretching, paralyzing them instead. Prayer let’s them stretch & strengthens them. Hugs! ✨🌟🙏🌟✨
Best line: “Why worry when we can pray?”
Second best line is the ‘He’s up all night anyway.” Do you think God occasionally strolls into 7-11’s at three in the morning?
LoL – I think God strolls into 7-Elevens whenever twinkie cravings get out of hand. But I’m sure glad God is awake late at night: when fear gremlins try to knock us about, God’s peace is here to straighten us out. Blessings! ✨🙏🌟🙏✨
Favorite line: ‘A little more prayin’ might keep us from cavin’.’

Good stuff, Virginia — happy Hump Day!
Thanks, Debbie. It’s one thing to give our troubles over to God, but my worry meter fluctuates like a yo-yo when I’m constantly taking them back. More prayin’ needed! ✨🌟🙏🌟✨
Debbie, that is just the cutest Sheltie! I had a sweet one growing up and my brother has had two.
Virginia, thanks for all your lenten thoughts!!!
Hi Carol: Aren’t Shelties the best? This is my second, and he’s so much better than the first one I had. It’s all in the breeding!
Love, love, love each and everyone of those quotes ❤ Blessings ❤
Thank you, Scarlett. They’re good quotes when worries squash our courage muscles to keep on going. Blessings! 🌹🌟✨🌟🌹
“We must lay before him what is in us; not what ought to be in us.” – C.s Lewis
Amen, Arlene – great quote. I’m a C.S. Lewis groupie, too. Hugs! ✨🤗✨
Ah love each and every one of the quotes! Couldn’t agree more. Glad I read this because it was just what I needed. Why worry when it can’t even add an extra hour to life?
Blessings to you.
Thanks for posting this .
Hey Sunshine – thanks for spreading your rays of encouragement with Blogger V! I wrote those quotes recently in my journal, as (much needed) reminders not to freak out with worry blues (too easy to do!) Blessings back at ‘cha (& blogging hugs!) ✨☀️✨
