A Canadian Thanksgiving Blessing (slightly humorous!)

To our northern neighbors who celebrate Thanksgiving on the second Monday of October – TODAY! – Virginia wishes you a day filled with gratitude and (lots of) yummy eats.

“May your stuffing be tasty
May your turkey be plump,
May your potatoes and gravy
have nary a lump.
May your yams be delicious
and your pies take the prize,
and may your Thanksgiving dinner
stay off your thighs!”*

HaPpY CANADIAN THANKSGIVING!

grace, peace & gracious exercise

p.s. T-shirt pictured (that missed a t-shirt tour feature) is one of Virginia’s favorites, acquired a few years ago at the Vancouver Central Public Library shop.

Hope my Canadian friends are having a grand Thanksgiving (ours isn’t β€˜til the end of November) but gratitude is a gift that’s good to unwrap every day! Blessings, Suni! πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦πŸ‚πŸ™πŸ‚πŸ€—πŸ

Thanks Virginia. Fond memories of out Thanksgiving dinner for Canadian expats at Fellowship House. I’m very thankful for you dear friend

    • Virginia says:

Edie, so grateful to God for the gift of YOU! Hope your Thanksgiving is blessed with extra doses of love & grace amidst these crazy times. Will never forget that Canadian Thanksgiving celebration in DC baking my first turkey- I called Mama @ 5:30AM to make sure it made it into the oven correctly! Much love & MANY hugs! πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦πŸ‚πŸ¦ƒπŸπŸ€—

How wonderful — I hope our neighbors have a great Thanksgiving (ours will be here before we know it!)

Sounds like things are a bit subdued up yonder – a friend in Ottawa posted on FB that single folks were only allowed to meet with one other person for a holiday meal. Yikes!πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦πŸ™„ I didn’t see my sis Shere (who lives 20 mins from us) for months due to COVID, but we decided WE ARE FAMILY (!! 🎢 remember that song? 🎢) so now we get together carefully. Hope you are keeping well Debbie!! πŸ‚πŸ˜·πŸ‚πŸ€—πŸ‚

      • Debbie says:

Trying to, my friend. I for sure don’t want it, nor do I want to bring it home to my mama!

      • Virginia says:

We were always so careful with my papa – we did so many of the things everyone is doing now to protect him. The 6 feet rule, hand sanitizer when his visitors came, clorox, masks when we were sick et all..) If Mama and Papa were still here, you can be sure we would be extra strict going out! Hope you (and your mama) stay well, Debbie!

  5. Hope they are having a great thanksgiving. Many reasons to be thankful.

    • Virginia says:

Thanks Arlene – our American Thanksgiving is not until the 3rd week of November, but I enjoyed the Canadian one vicariously through friends there! Blessings to you and your family! πŸ™‚
