Last week whilst recovering from surgery & flu blues, we had a special visitor in the back-est regions of our backyard…
A Barred Owl!! As often happens, just as I prepared to take a closer pic (crunching through the brush) our visitor woke up & flew away, but still, how cool is that?

Years ago a grey owl on a branch outside my window mesmerized me into blubbering wonder. So fascinating to watch! Since then I’ve collected lots of owls (we have special owl pillows all over the house) but it’s such a treat to see a real one!! 😎👀😎

Virginia, I didn’t know you’re an owl-lover, too! How cool is that? I have THREE on my desk watching (supervising!) me! Glad you were able to get this guy’s photo before he flew off.
Debbie- I’m a huge owl groupie. There’s a wonderful artist who makes owl pillows (I just saw her @ RavenCon) we’ve collected 7 of her pillows that brighten the whole house. So grateful to get at least one pic of our owl visitor!! 📸😎📸
Virginia, you were very fortunate to get a picture of this lovely creature. You must have been ready to capture nature staring back at you. There’s plenty “nature” in my back yard too, but I fiddle with my phone too long to catch any really cool creatures. Good job!
