Victoria Day @ Butchart Gardens

A few years ago my brother & I happened to visit Canada on Victoria Day during a bucket list Rocky Mountaineer trip from Vancouver to Alberta (as previously blogged about here: Victoria Day in Canada.)

water taxis in Victoria, capital of British Columbia

Cheers to Canadian friends celebrating Victoria Day 2019! In honor of the day (& for the rest of us) I thought it would be fun to take a photo visit of Butchart Gardens, located in Victoria (appropriately named for Queen Victoria) on Vancouver Island.

Although I shared a few pics previously (Beauty @ Butchart Gardens) here are some different ones from Virginia’s pocket camera…

Beautiful fountains (with fish slurping about)

& beauteous flowers (showing off)

& walkways (serenity advised)

+ more fountains (with frogs sputtering about)

& rose gardens (in bloom)

a fragrant delight!

Willows weeping by ponds…

& spectacular water works (tall in heights)

& more beauteous flowers (all over the place!)

grace, peace & Butchart Garden beauty

Hope you enjoyed a good holiday, Patty! We certainly had fun in Vancouver a few years ago on Victoria Day. Also had the chance to celebrate Canada Day during a visit to PEI years ago… so much fun! Blessings!! 🙂

Thank you Virginia! Next time you come to Canada, come to visit me in Toronto! 🙂

Thank you for your invitation, Patty – & you are most welcome to visit Virginia (the person) here in Williamsburg, Virginia (the state.) I passed through Toronto once years ago for work (no sightseeing, especially in snowy cold January) but would love to give it another go on a warm summer day. My brother & I once made a summer driving trip to Quebec City (visiting friends in Montreal OTW) & then ended up in Niagara on the Lake, ON for the Shaw Festival & a chance to see the falls. That part of Canada is so beautiful, too! 🇨🇦☀️🤗☀️🇨🇦

Really lovely! I have not been to this Gardens although I have been to Vancouver, Canada. Nice share with thanks💕

    • Virginia says:

Hey GH – the Butchart Gardens is located on Vancouver Island (a ferry ride from Vancouver) – truly beautiful, even on the rainy day we visited. We only had 2 hours to scurry around, could have spent a whole day! Blessings & hugs! 🙂

Thanks for letting me know Virginia. I don’t when and if I can ever fly to Vancouver or drive from Eugene Oregon to Seattle to Vancouver again! I love the drive I did with mum and dad as the route was scenic and at own time and pace! If I do it, for sure Butchart Gardens!

      • Virginia says:

For sure, GH, it’s a place not to miss. But isn’t that a grand benefit of being blogging buddies – we can visit these places vicariously. I may never get a chance to visit Singapore again, but your walking blogs (so many beautiful flowers) transport me there. Blessings & hugs! 💐😎💐

You are most kind to walk with me on my walks and see what I see, eat what CM eats and laugh with me🤗💕

    Beautiful garden indeed!😊

  4. Those gardens were breathtaking. It reminds me a little bit of when I went to the Garden of Gethsane and there were lots of little flowers in bloom.

That sounds beautiful, too! We visited Butchart Gardens on a rainy day (& onky has 2 hours) – the beauty astounded us even in the rain! Blessings! ☔️💐☔️
