Irish Blessing(s)

HaPpY Saint Patrick’s Day to one and all! As we celebrate the life of Saint Patrick and all things Irish, here are a few of Virginia’s favorite Irish blessings. (She even has them on Irish cups as a reminder when she has a cuppa tae!)

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields and,
Until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Deep peace of the running wave to you.
Deep peace of the flowing air to you.
Deep peace of the quiet earth to you.
Deep peace of the shining stars to you.
Deep peace of the gentle night to you.
Deep peace of the Son of peace to you.

“May joy and peace surround you, contentment latch your door, and happiness be with you now and bless you evermore!”

grace, peace & Irish cheer (Sláinte!)

Thank you, Poorvi! We had a fun celebration here in our home (vs. going out) but next year maybe we can celebrate in an Irish pub! Cheers!
