Keep On CARING!!

During last month’s staycation Virginia (the person) and her brother visited Yorktown in Virginia (the state.) I know, I know – it’s confusing that Virginia (the person) lives in Virginia (the state!) But, since Virginia was born and raised in Virginia, she doesn’t mind the confusion since Virginia is a lovely state and NAME. (It was my precious Mama’s name, too, so don’t dare knock it!)

“Spread out and smile. This is only for awhile.”

Wherever we live, some folks are getting tired caring about COVID-19. Here in the U.S. places are opening back up, vaccinated folks can go mask-less in many establishments (including church last Sunday!) But, even though we may be doing oh-so-much-better, folks are still getting sick and dying around the globe.

“Six feet apart is smart!”

The point is, we still need to care and be careful. Not everyone is vaccinated yet. We don’t know who may be at risk, so let’s be gracious. If a store or establishment still requires a mask, don’t be a beanhead about it. WEAR YOUR MASK.

“Life’s a Beach. Play responsibly.”

This sign reminds me of a letter Papa sent when I was a first year student at the University of Virginia many moons ago. In it he wrote, “Study hard and play very carefully.” Ahem. (UVA at that time had a reputation as a party school.) Here’s to being responsible and careful… and caring.

“Never believe that a few caring people can’t change the world. For, indeed, that’s all who ever have.” Margaret Mead

Sometimes, V, it seems we have to live our lives with fingers crossed. Thanks for the reminders!

We’ve been mostly maskless in church for several weeks now, despite the cropping up of new COVID cases in our community. Makes me just a tad sad that some folks refuse to be “inconvenienced” by masks, when other folks remain vulnerable. And now that the weather is better, we could easily have church services outdoors.

The last few weeks we’ve had option to go mask-less @ church (if fully vaccinated) but there’s still a “spaced out” section for masked folks. Even tho fully vaccinated I’m sitting (masked) with them. Church is now filled to brim & I don’t want to get sick! ✨💐😷💐✨

  3. Loving the pictures. Couldn’t agree more. Showing care and thoughtfulness is still relevant and even more so important. Many are eager to return back to the norm, however, care should be taken in doing so.

Hey Sunshine, I totally agree. After a year+ wearing masks in stores I keep wearing mine – forgetting we don’t have to wear them now! It’s become the new norm. I’m still careful in crowded places to wear a mask since I tend to catch whatever is going around. Hope you are doing well! 💐😷💐😷💐🤗💐

  4. I probably shouldn’t admit this, but I chose Yale over UVA because Yale’s catalog had people sitting around a table with water pitchers. I thought it was pitchers of beer and decided that was the school for me.

Hilarious! At the time I went to UVA it was considered one of the top party schools in the country – the administration worked hard to change that image!! Yale is a great school. I went to a conference there during grad school & was totally impressed! 💐✨🍺✨💐

I am glad Virginia enjoyed Virginia 🤭👍😃

    • Virginia says:

LoL, GH! Virginia does indeed enjoy Virginia (the state) and she enjoyed Virginia (the University) too! Hope you’re doing well, GH! 💐✨💜✨💐
