It’s been an Amazing Grace kind of week, thinking of Mama. This morning it was the first hymn we sang at church. So, here’s a bit of amazing music to uplift your soul today.
A friend recently gifted me with jazz pianist Cyrus Chestnut’s CD, Blessed Quietude. We’ve enjoyed several of his jazz compilations, but this one has been on constant replay. You can feel Cyrus Chestnut’s faith and Gospel roots, especially in his inspiring rendition of Amazing Grace. Here’s a YouTube edition to have a listen…

Debbie, If you’ve seen the movie “Chariots of Fire” (one of my favorites.) In it, famous runner Eric Liddell says, “When I run, I feel God’s pleasure.” Whether it’s music or making jewelry (with all those fabulous gems you blogged about) or teaching or what what – when we do it well, we honor God — and our loved ones. Cyrus Chestnut’s jazz is great. If you’re into jazz, you might also like Joey Alexander. I saw him play on Tavis Smiley, then downloaded the one that has “Sunday Waltz” on it. (That song gets lots of replays!) grace, peace & jazzzed up music – Virginia 🙂
