Enjoying Sunshine (& dancing in the rain!)

After a few unseasonably warm winter days (sitting outside? for lunch?) there’s a cold front moving in to our area with storms bellowing behind. Okay, I’m taking a little license here to dramatize my quotes. Rain, just rain is on the way for the weekend here. (Cold rain, but rain it will be. Not snow as previously predicted.)

“If you spend your whole life waiting for the storm, you’ll never enjoy the sunshine.” Morris West

But, if the rains do come….

“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass. It’s about learning how to dance in the rain.” Vivian Greene

    Hey Virginia,

Wind and rain are constant banes of winter, and today in the U.K is no exception: lashing rain and high winds as usual! But whatever the weather, seasoned travellers smile and the dance goes on regardless.

Batten down the hatches, put another log on the fire, and cosy up with a good book and a pot of tea. All will be well πŸ˜€

Dewin, I (really really) like your response to lashing rain & dreary winter days: sitting in front of a toasty warm fire with a good book & pot of tea is my idea of a good time!!! Sets my heart β€˜a dancing, it does!! Cheers!πŸ“šπŸ”₯ β˜•οΈπŸ”₯πŸ“š

V, as always, you excel in choices of quotations. Yep, for us here in Oregon, that is good advice for living with rain. Love that first sunshiny image. [Note, there are times when I’ll turn on professional golf on TV just to ‘feel’ the warmth of the sunshine.]

    • Virginia says:

LoL, Tim – can picture you watching golf to β€˜feel’ the sunshine! β˜€οΈ Cold rainy days make cozy enterprises engaging (snuggling up with good book & pot of tea + scones?) Also explains your baking habit? I tend to avoid using oven on hot sunshiny days, but in winter don’t need much of an excuse to bake something to warm up kitchen. β˜”οΈπŸ§β˜”οΈπŸ€ͺβ˜”οΈπŸ°

We’re expecting that junk this afternoon and tomorrow — yuck! I’m already looking forward to spring … and sunshine … and flowers!!

    • Virginia says:

It’s a bleak winter day here, Debbie – I’m also looking forward to spring flowers!! Sunshine would be good, too. Here’s to weather excuses for an extra decadent hot chocolate to perk up bleak winter blues! πŸ€ͺπŸ’¨πŸ«β˜•οΈπŸ«πŸ’¨πŸ€ͺ

I want to dance in the rain

    • Virginia says:

There’s heaps of freedom dancing in the rain, Carol-Jo! Here’s to putting our rain boots on and letting courage grooves move us out into the rain! β˜”οΈπŸŽΆπŸŒŸβ˜”οΈπŸŽΆ

Love this!! My mom and I were out shopping in that cold rain today and it made it seem a little less dreary. πŸ™‚

    • Virginia says:

Dancing (or shopping) in cold rain makes returning home a cozier endeavor (especially with hot tea or chocolate to enhance our dance grooves?) Blessings, Michelle! β˜”οΈπŸ’¨πŸ«β˜•οΈπŸ«πŸ’¨β˜”οΈ
