Itzhak Perlman: Beethoven & Baseball : )

Today here’s a little humor and baseball fun in this short video from violin virtuoso Itzhak Perlman…(Email readers, you know the drill. Link to Roses website to view.)

My mama was a violinist in the Norfolk Symphony before she met my papa (and had 5 kids.) As a huge Itzhak Perlman groupie she would have really enjoyed this. My papa also loved his music – and watching baseball.

Go figure they are chuckling from their vantage point in the heavenlies…

“There are three things you can do in a baseball game. You can win, or you can lose, or it can rain.” Casey Stengel

Wow violin is so difficult to learn. I gave up after tinkering with it a year πŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆ

I also tried playing violin for a short time when I was younger (to carry on mama’s legacy) but it was TOO hard! I stuck with the flute… 🎢πŸ€ͺ🎢

      • Shruba says:

Aww but that’s beautiful! Wind instruments are another level of difficult again. Needs so much stamina and breathing control! I’m fond of strumming my ukulele randomly and imagining that I’m playing it well haha πŸ™ˆπŸ˜

Your mama was a violinist?? I’m totally impressed now, Virginia. That’s a tough one to master! I bet she’s playing again, only this time in the Heavenly Symphony!!

    • Virginia says:

Thanks for that, Debbie. I can just see mama playing in the Heavenly Symphony, with papa carrying her violin to symphony practice. (Their 1st six months of β€œdates” – the one night papa had off mama had rehearsal, so he would carry her violin & sit and listen in the back watching the light shine on her red hair, so the story goes…) πŸŒŸπŸŽ»πŸ‘©πŸ»β€πŸ¦°πŸŽ»πŸŒŸπŸ’žπŸŽΆ
