Bubble Baths (of God’s Love!)

Virginia is a bubble bath gal who enjoys escaping into the bubbles, especially during times of stress. When slammed, however, a bubble bath tends to become an irregular occurrence when it seems like a luxury of sorts.

But, oh, the joy of bubbles, of soaking troubles away through relaxation supreme.

The other night I tried a new Aromatherapy bubble bath called “Love” (with Roses and Vanilla, how could Virginia resist?) Soaking achy-breaky back muscles in the luxurious bubbles a bit longer than usual provided bounteous time to contemplate things like LOVE.

God’s love, especially. God’s love is always here to keep us going, but do we take time out of our busy schedules to soak in the bubble bath of God’s love?

When life beats us up and our hearts are sore, do we let God’s healing graces soften our hearts with bubbles of hope and restoration?

How often do we let God pamper us with luxurious Love, the kind that makes us know we are Beloved and precious in God’s sight?

When we’re stressed and slammed it’s all the more important to pause for a bubble bath of God’s love, even a quickie one.

We can take a 10 minute break to sit outside, breathe and pray. Take a worship moment to notice a sunrise, a sunset, or a moonrise. Go for a walk in the woods, check out the majesty of trees and colorful leaves (God’s heavenly paintbrushes busy at work.)

Splurge on flowers to brighten your desk (reminder: God loves me!)

Splurge on flowers to brighten your colleague’s desk (reminder: God loves them, too.)

Take time to receive love from others, and to be love to others. In so doing, we are sharing the bubble bath of God’s love for us and for all.

God’s bubble bath of love is all around us (and within us, if we look hard enough.) If we take time to soak it in, we can treasure indelible bubbles of God’s love amidst our go-go-go-goings on.

grace, peace & Love-ly bubble baths

Wow! We don’t have bathtub here so I don’t experience bubble baths. I love lighting aromatherapy candles though.

Enjoy your bubble bath and soak in the serenity and aromatic treat!

    • Virginia says:

Oh GH, I threw my back out a few weeks ago so have been enjoying “immersion therapy” with bubbles added to the mix! Hugs! 💦🤗💦

      • Garfield Hug says:

Oh no…Are you better now Virginia? It is awful to suffer from back pain. I am a veteran of back pain and it is just horrid. Immersion therapy sounds fun…warm soapy bubbles with lots of aromatherapy I hope?

      • Virginia says:

GH, I know you know all about pain of all sorts. Back is good for a day, then I overdo it and it needs lots of TLC again. (Also an excuse to enjoy more bubble bath immersion therapy!) Blessings & hugs – 🙂

      • Garfield Hug says:

Take care Virginia and yes, immersion therapy sounds like fun all the time. Lots of Garfield hugs!

  4. Encouraging, thoughtful post. You’re right about us needing to soak in God’s love, especially when life is hitting us from all sides. Best. TD

    • Virginia says:

Thank you, TD. Hopefully if we soak in God’s love long enough, we can share bubbles of effervescent light & joy with others a bit more. Blessings! 🕯💦🌟💦🕯

What a beautiful analogy! I love my bathtime (even if I can’t use bubble bath any more because of skin reactions) and yes, it’s often a time of real contemplation and soaking for me!

    • Virginia says:

Contemplative bubble baths (even bubble-less ones) are a chance to soak in God’s peace (as spasmodic muscles get untangled) so we can be peace to others. When my back is out I can be a little grumpy but bubble baths help happy things up a bit! Bath-time Blessings! 💦🌟💦🕯💦

  9. JOY journal says:

🙂 Good points. When I was a kid, I loved Mr. Bubble, which came in a paper carton. I would probably shrivel up and blow away if I put that much soap on now, but I sure loved it then.

    • Virginia says:

I’ve also always enjoyed bubble baths, Nora. Bubbles made bath time fun as a child (& still do as an adult.) Now, though, bubbles offer contemplative opportunities to ponder the effervescence of God’s love! Bubbly Blessings! 💦🌟💦🕯💦

  10. chapter18 says:

With mindfulness, a bath becomes an ablution….
