Virginia’s t-shirt tours continue with a memorable visit to Maymont Park in Richmond, VA. Two years ago a change of plans turned a long weekend away into a stay-cation at home. Making the best of it my brother and I day-tripped to fun places including Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden (as posted here: Flowers! Flowers! Flowers & more!)
That weekend coincided with a heatwave (110+ heat index in the shade) but we shouldered on to visit Maymont Park on Sunday, not realizing that everyone and their grandmamas (literally) would be there on Mother’s Day. Needless to say, Virginia became a puddle walking around in the heat!
But nice brother gifted this fav Maymont t-shirt after a long hot trek from the rose gardens to the other side of the park..

QUOTE: “Never lose an opportunity of seeing anything that is beautiful; for beauty is God’s handwriting – a wayside sacrament. Welcome it in every fair face, in every fair sky, in every fair flower, and thank God for it as a cup of blessing.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

“Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not.” Ralph Waldo Emerson (It’s Sunday, a two-quote day!)
Looks like a gorgeous place to visit, Virginia. And I love those quotes by Emerson — a two-fer, ha!
Haha, couldn’t decide which quote to use, so a two-fer seemed appropriate (it being Sunday and all that.) Maymont is gorgeous all year ‘round. Sunday blessings, Debbie! ☀️🌷☀️🤗☀️💐
